Sometimes a floor plan isn’t enough to get a complete idea of what a house will look like. While builders, architects and designers are accustomed to taking a flat drawing, or even just a description, and transposing that information into a full scale 3D mockup in their brains, the rest of us need to see to believe. If you already have a basic idea of what type of home you want to build, or what types of additions you want to make to your home, then let us help you actually see what it will look like by using computer software to create a 3D representation of your vision. Here’s how we do it.
Input
First let’s talk. Tell us what you have in mind. This will give us the information we need to create the plans necessary to construct a 3D model. We want to know things like:
- The number of bedrooms/bathrooms
- Number of floors (stories)
- What materials/finishes you prefer – Brick? Stone? Wood? Granite?
- Location of fireplace(s)
Output
We go back to the lab, and take all of the information we discussed, and use it to create full 3-Dimensional renderings of your vision. You would be surprised just how different it is to actually see the mockup, as opposed to generating it in your own mind. You really get a feel for things like:
- Scope: see how much needs to be done
- Space and Proportion: put yourself in the room and look around
- The flow of the house: does the addition “fit”?
- Design and Detail: make tweaks, try different finishes/styles
Finalize
Once the design is created and in front of you, it becomes easier to discuss and critique it. We love the expression on customers’ faces when they see their ideas in 3D. It’s the realization that their vision is coming to life. Ask yourself:
- Did the finishes turn out like I imagined?
- Is it going to provide us with the space we need?
- Does it fit with the rest of the house?
Talk with us openly about what you like, and what you want to change. Once we agree on a rendering, then it’s on to the hammer and nail. You will feel confident that the home we build is the home you imagined.
